Adidas has announced it will investigate allegations of inappropriate behavior against Kanye West.
Adidas said it had received an anonymous letter containing multiple allegations against the rapper, now known as Ye, prompting the sportswear giant to launch an internal probe.
“It is currently not clear whether the accusations made in an anonymous letter are true,” Adidas said in a statement. “However, we take these allegations very seriously and have taken the decision to launch an independent investigation of the matter immediately to address the allegations.”
The investigation comes on the back of an article by Rolling Stone magazine reporting numerous alleged instances of inappropriate behavior by Ye .
The magazine said that a number of former employees had written an anonymous letter to Adidas claiming that senior management had turned a “blind eye” to Ye’s actions, including allegations that the rapper had shown workers explicit photographs of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
Adidas was among the brands that severed connections with the musician after he made anti-Semitic remarks last month.
